Variables
Eastern Kingbird
Occurred the most disproportionately in eastern Oregon hexagons with
elevation (hex. avg.) less than 1204 ft. and with less than 13% of the
land in public ownership. Occurred higher (up to at least 1333 ft.) if
May precipitation (hex. min.) less than 21 mm. Further west, it is most
likely in hexagons where May minimum temperature (hex. avg.) is
5.40-7.54 C. The logistic regression analysis showed positive or
negative association with modified grassland (Northeast Oregon),
mixed conifer forest (Northeast Oregon), sagebrush steppe, July
maximum temperature (hex. max.), and-to a lesser degree-road
density and the extent of public land.
